Call for papers

As the participants have indicated their interest during the last DesignEd conference for the 2007 program, for the very first time, we are inviting paper presentations in following categories:

  • Teaching case studies
  • Industry case studies
  • Design research projects
This program aims to provide more content in design education trends around the world, which was a welcomed topic last year, especially for Mainland participants.

Who should submit a proposal for paper presentation?

The DesignEdAsia 2007 promotes contributions from academia as well as industry. The conference welcomes all those interested in the area of Design education and culture, for instance:
  • Academics and researchers working in the field of design,
  • Professionals and managers working in the design, engineering, product development and related areas.
  • National and regional development agencies and governmental bodies

How to submit a proposal?

DesignEdAsia 2007 conference invites for abstract submissions of 500 words of a maximum length. Submissions are invited on significant, original, and previously unpublished cases and research in the domain of design education with respect of this year’s conference theme: Sustaining Culture through Design Education. The abstract will be reviewed by a committee and the committee will select 18 proposals for a full paper presentation at the conference. The accepted papers will be asked to submit a paper of 3500 words of a maximum length. The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and the authors will be invited to make a 20 minute presentation at the conference.

Submission of an abstract can be made online here by providing:

  • presenter’s names and affiliations (contact details, organization, university, etc.)
  • a brief description of the contribution of 500 words of maximum length.

Review process for abstracts and full papers

Abstracts are limited to 500 words and a bibliography. Full papers are limited to 3,500 words. An expert panel of reviewers will review the abstracts and will select the abstracts that shall submit and present their full paper on the conference.
