Daan van Eijk was trained as Industrial Designer at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.
Through 15 years of professional practice, in particular as a partner in a design firm, he has gained extensive experience within the field of Industrial Design.
While the multidisciplinary approach is central to him, his perspective is almost always from the point of usage and the user. He has a great deal of experience with the application of ergonomic knowledge in design projects, and the analysis and evaluation of the product in use. In 2004 he has been appointed as Professor of Applied Ergonomics and Design at the Faculty in Delft.
Over the last four years Prof. Daan van Eijk has been a regular visitor to China. In this period he has built up intensive relations with the Hong Kong PolyU School of Design, both in the fields of design education and in design research. |
