Topic:Teaching without Technical Boundaries: Exploring Low-Fidelity Prototyping as a Process of Ideation and Expression in Interaction/Interactive Design

One of the major challenges of teaching interaction/interactive design students lies in students’ limited technical skills. Unlike those in other design disciplines, students need to come up with design solutions that incorporate technologies in order to provide satisfying interactive experiences. As these students are generally familiar with and/or savvy users of interactive products and services, we postulate that without full programming abilities, they can still create sensible designs through low-fidelity prototyping. In this workshop, participants will explore the potential of low-fidelity prototyping through hands-on group exercises in relation to their own teaching areas.
