Luisa Collina is Dean and Full Professor of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano, and member of the doctorate board since 2000 that was founded by Ezio Manzini.
In 2005, she established a master course there (taught in English) in Product-Service-System Design, and from 2005 to 2015 she has been Head of the program. From January 2011 to 2016 she has been Rector’s delegate for Milan Expo 2015 and for the Major Events of the University. From 2012 to 2014 she has been a member of the Scientific and Artistic Advisory Board (SAAB) of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture of Aalto University (Helsinki).
Since June 2013 she is a member of the Jury of PEEK, a program for art based research promoted by FWF, the Austrian Science Fund. She has also coordinated several projects for the 150th anniversary of Politecnico di Milano and for Expo 2015, and has been a member of the Scientific Committee for the XXI Triennale Internazionale held in Milan in 2016.
She was also nominated as Vice-President of Cumulus International Association and since 2013 she has been elected as President of the association. Her main interests concern interior and service design with a particular focus on the fields of retail and hospitality, and she collaborates with universities, research centers and companies in international research programs and strategic innovation projects.
