The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, Hong Kong Design Institute (member of VTC Group) and Hong Kong Design Centre jointly present the Leadership Forum on Design Education.
Design is a growing discipline that is taught at all levels and to both design students and non-design students. This forum aims to acknowledge the vast amount of changes that we observe in the world around us, in university education in general and in design education in particular. At this Leadership Forum, design leaders and educators are here to share their perspectives, debate their views and provide new insights on the future of design education.
The Leadership Forum will be a full-day event with introductions by the leaders in the morning and with the debate in the afternoon. In the introductions, the leaders will showcase how they effectively made a difference in design education and what kind of changes they are up to in the near future. The debate in the afternoon consists of two parts. The first part will be between pairs of leaders. To address major challenges in design and education that we are facing today, the key question is to what extent design educators can offer and be equipped to meet these challenges. The second part of the debate will be an open forum with interactions between the leaders themselves and with the audience.
The Leadership Forum is a concurrent event under the programme of Business of Design Week (BODW), a flagship event organised by Hong Kong Design Centre since 2002. Today, BODW enjoys the reputation as Asia’s leading annual event on design, innovation and brands.
The Leadership Forum relates to all design educators and designers globally. We hope to see you there this year!
